Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi accused the United Arab Emirates of direct involvement in military operations against his country during a BRICS meeting in New Delhi on Thursday, Iranian state media reported.
The dispute comes a day after the UAE denied Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement that he visited the Gulf state during the Iran war, to which Araqchi actually responded by saying that “those who collude with Israel to sow division will be held accountable.”
“I did not mention the UAE in my book [Brics] Statement for unity. But the truth is that the UAE was directly involved in the aggression against my country. “When the attacks started, they didn’t even issue a condemnation,” Araqchi was quoted as saying by state media on Thursday in response to comments made by the Emirati actor.
Iranian official media did not specify what the Emirati representative said.
According to reports, Araqchi said that neither US bases nor the alliance with Israel provide security for the UAE, and that it must reconsider its policy towards Iran.
Araqchi added: “We must live side by side in peace, and this requires peaceful relations and full understanding between the two countries.”
Meanwhile, in a post on the Telegram application, Araghchi accused the UAE of playing an active role in the American-Israeli war against his country. Araqchi wrote: “The UAE is an active partner in this aggression, there is no doubt about that.”
He also referred to what Israel described as a “secret” meeting in the UAE during the war between Netanyahu and Emirati President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan – a visit denied by Abu Dhabi.

Araqchi said: “I must say that the UAE was directly involved in the aggressive action against my country. When this aggression began, they refused to even condemn it.”
He added: “It also became clear that they participated in these attacks and may have acted directly against us.”
on monday, The Wall Street Journal It published a story saying that the UAE carried out military operations against Iran in early April.
Iranian media raised doubts about whether participants in the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting in India would be able to issue a final statement as a result of the differences between Iran and the UAE, as Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi was quoted as saying that there were “problems and communications” due to the UAE’s presence.
Relations between Iran and the UAE have been tense since February 28 when US-Israeli attacks led to Iranian retaliatory strikes against Israel and US allies in the Gulf, including the UAE. A fragile ceasefire has been reached since April 8.
Iran has repeatedly accused the Gulf states of allowing American forces to carry out attacks from their territory.
The Gulf states have repeatedly denied these accusations, and said even before the conflict that they would not allow their territory or airspace to be used to attack Iran.
Iranian state television showed analysts claiming UAE involvement in attacks on Iran. Earlier this month, the UAE accused Iran of launching a drone attack on an energy facility in the eastern emirate of Fujairah, which Iran denied.
